Bruno Forget invites us to penetrate the privacy of George Sand, those of his son Maurice, his companion Alexandre Manceau and some of their guests, in their discovery of the small village of Gridlisse.
He does it with a graphic creation full of sensitivity. His drawing is removed, almost aerial. Together, there is a real softness against the tide of violence that too often surrounds us. The shades used, almost washed away by place, are in the image of a blurred memory. They sometimes feature bright colours such as cherries red, intense night black or mother-of-pearl butterfly wings. As for the scientific plates that the author slips into the heart of his story, they skillfully recall the very reasons for the presence of our heroes on the Creuse side: the discovery of landscapes, a greedy observation of nature, the need to understand and respect an intact environment. This is a magnificent demonstration of what a responsible and responsible tourism should be like, as our illustrious travellers did in their time. This is also the whole meaning of the project. « George Sand with clay ».
Bruno Forget, like the novelist, encourages us to look all around us, especially what is least visible. The characters mentioned are rendered tactfully and likely. The places explored are both recognizable and sublimated by a poetized expression. The inhabitants of the village, fortunately, are not forgotten, however: they weave with humanity an indispensable presence. A human society that undoubtedly deeply touched George Sand.
By turning the last page of this album that promises many more stays to come, everyone will keep in mouth the sweetness of his childhood. May this reading allow anyone to become a curious, attentive, attentive and respectful visitor of one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Bruno Forget
After a career as a teacher specializing in training in the plastic arts, Bruno Forget devotes much of his time to his cartoon projects. For editions La Bouinotte, he published in three volumes a remarkable adaptation of Rustic Legends, George Sand, then the Oak speakingsame author. In collaboration with Jean-Marc Desloges, he also signed a spying adventure, Châteauroux no longer responds, which evokes « American era » of the city, at the time of the NATO base.
